Thermostat in cool, set below room temp, fan on auto. Breaker on. Outdoor unit getting power. Filter not a brick.
If the fan is still and the box is humming, do not keep resetting the breaker. That needs electrical testing with a meter.
Ice means airflow or charge. Running it that way can kill a compressor. Turn it off and call.
You do not have the gauges or the license, and a leak is still a leak.
If the fan spins but the air is warm and there is no ice → gets a faster, cheaper visit than “I think it needs refrigerant”.
If the house is already hot, call the office - or the emergency line during a heat warning.
