Quiet summer cooling sized to the house. We match the coil to the furnace, set the charge properly, and haul the old condenser away.
Cooling - energy-efficient
Canadian summers are short and sharp. An oversized condenser short-cycles and leaves the upstairs humid; an undersized one runs until midnight and still cannot catch up. We size the coil and condenser together and check the furnace blower can move the air.
The pad, whip, disconnect, and line-set are the unglamorous half of a good install. We recover the old refrigerant, replace undersized or contaminated copper, weigh in the charge, and confirm superheat and subcooling - not a 'close enough' gauge glance.
Load and duct reality, not the old nameplate.
Level pad, clearances, new whip and disconnect.
Matched coil, drain, and line-set done clean.
Weigh-in, readings, and a walk-through at the thermostat.
April through June is kinder than the first heat wave. We still install in July - you just wait in a warm house if the city is slammed.
Usually, if the blower and ducts can handle the coil. We check that before we sell a condenser.
A straightforward add-on is often a day. New electrical or a coil that needs plenum work can take longer.
If you also want winter efficiency, yes. See the heat-pump page. If you only want July cooling, a straight AC is simpler.
