Hot water heat, done for this climate

Hydronic heating uses heated water running through pipes, radiators, or in-floor loops to warm different areas of the home evenly and quietly. a zone valve sticks, a circulator hums and does nothing, or an old boiler short-cycles because nobody reset the curve. We treat boilers as a system - radiation, piping, and controls - not a box swap.

Condensing boilers only save gas if the return water is actually cool enough. That means piping, outdoor reset, and sometimes a buffer. We flush the loop, add inhibitor, and leave you with a curve that keeps radiators even without roasting the mechanical room.

How we do it

The visit, step by step

1

Map the loop

Zones, radiation, and what the old boiler was actually doing.

2

Choose the boiler

Condensing when the loop can support it; honest alternatives when it cannot.

3

Pipe it right

Primary/secondary, vents, and condensate that will not freeze in the chase.

4

Set the curve

Outdoor reset and zone check with the house cold enough to tell the truth.

Included

What you are actually buying

  • Boiler replacement or hydronic repair
  • Venting and combustion air for the new unit
  • Circulator, zone valve, and air-separator check
  • System flush and inhibitor
  • Outdoor-reset control setup
  • Walkthrough of zone thermostats

Book this when

  • The boiler bangs, leaks, or will not hold pressure
  • One wing of the house never gets hot
  • You want a condensing upgrade on a radiator home
  • In-floor heat takes hours and still feels patchy

Questions we actually get

Can I replace a cast-iron boiler with a condensing unit?

Usually yes, if we pipe it so return temperatures can drop. Slapping a condensing boiler on an old high-temp loop wastes the efficiency you bought.

Do you work on in-floor heat?

Yes. We diagnose manifolds, mix valves, and the boiler that feeds them. We do not pour new slabs.

How long is a boiler swap?

A clean mechanical room is often one to two days. Chimney liners and re-piping add time.

Is a boiler better than a furnace?

Only if the house is already hydronic or you are building for it. We will not talk you into ripping out working ducts.
