The another area of the home stayed lukewarm and the gas bill did not. A condensing boiler with outdoor reset fixed both.
The cast-iron boiler was original to a 1990s radiator home. It short-cycled and never quite pushed the another area of the home. Efficiency was a hope, not a measurement.
We installed a condensing boiler on primary/secondary piping, new venting, and an outdoor-reset curve. The loop was flushed and treated.
Radiators on the far side now come up with the rest of the house. The homeowner has a control they can read and a boiler that actually condenses.
Old high-temp loop that would have wasted a condensing boiler if we had just swapped the box.
Even radiation and a reset curve that matches Alberta weather.
